Construction is reshaping the terminal area, so pickup points for some terminals have moved and roads around the Central Terminal Area are slow. A pre-booked chauffeur who knows the current setup saves more time at JFK than almost anywhere else.

Terminal 1
Major international airlines including Air France, Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, Swiss and Korean Air.
Terminal 4
Delta's main JFK terminal, also used by Avianca, Virgin Atlantic, Emirates, LATAM and others. Reached directly from the Van Wyck Expressway.
Terminal 5
JetBlue, Cape Air and Sun Country. Reached from the JFK Expressway.
Terminal 7
Frontier, Aer Lingus, ANA, Air Canada, Norse and others. Reached from the JFK Expressway.
Terminal 8
American Airlines with oneworld partners such as British Airways, Alaska, Qatar and Iberia.
How Pickup Works at JFK
The Port Authority's rules for pre-arranged cars at JFK, in short:
- Booked car services meet passengers in the ground transportation area of the terminal. Uniformed Airport Customer Experience Specialists (red shirts) at the Port Authority Information Center in arrivals can point you there.
- Terminal curbs are for active pickups only. Cars cannot park or wait at the curb, and unattended vehicles are towed. That is why our chauffeurs stage in a lot until you have your bags.
- Terminals 5 and 7 (since May 2025, ongoing): arriving passengers using a for-hire vehicle or car service take the free AirTrain to the designated pickup lot at Howard Beach station. Staff there help with bags. Departures are still dropped at the terminal curb.
- Ride-app (Uber and Lyft) pickups at the other terminals are generally in front of the terminal, following signs after baggage claim.
- The Port Authority warns that construction can slow pickups and drop-offs, and advises ignoring anyone not in official uniform who offers a ride.

Flight Tracking & Free Wait Time
Our dispatch team uses real-time flight tracking software and automatically adjusts your chauffeur's arrival time for early arrivals or delays, with free wait on delayed flights. International flights into Terminals 1, 4 and 8 often take a while to clear customs at busy times, so international arrivals include extra free wait time.
JFK Construction and What It Means for Pickups
JFK is in the middle of a multi-year rebuild, with new terminals under construction and roadways rerouted. The Port Authority now recommends public transport to the airport during the busiest periods, and it moved car-service and ride-app pickups for Terminals 5 and 7 to Howard Beach. For a pre-booked car, this mostly changes where the vehicle waits, not how you meet your chauffeur.
We check the Port Authority advisories before every pickup. If a pickup area moves again, your confirmation text says so, and the chauffeur meets you inside the terminal and walks you to the right spot.
Leaving JFK for Manhattan, Brooklyn or Long Island
From Terminals 1 and 4 the quickest way out is usually the Van Wyck Expressway. From Terminals 5, 7 and 8 the JFK Expressway connects to the Belt Parkway and the Van Wyck. For Midtown we choose between the Long Island Expressway and the Queens-Midtown Tunnel, or the Grand Central Parkway and the RFK Bridge, depending on live traffic. Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn trips often use the Belt Parkway and the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. Long Island trips go east on the Belt or the Southern State.

JFK Tips From Our Dispatch Team
- Give us your flight number, not just a landing time. It is the only way we can follow a delay or a gate change.
- If you land at Terminal 5 or 7, allow extra time for the free AirTrain ride to the Howard Beach car-service lot.
- Weekday afternoon departures from Manhattan to JFK should leave at least three hours before a domestic flight and earlier for international.
- Tolls for bridges and tunnels on your route are listed in the quote, so the price you confirm is the price you pay.

How does pickup work at JFK Terminal 5 or Terminal 7?

What happens if my flight into JFK is delayed?
Nothing changes for you. We track the flight in real time and move the pickup to your actual landing time, and delayed flights include free wait time.
Can you take us from JFK to Newark or LaGuardia for a connection?
Yes. Airport-to-airport transfers are common. Allow at least 60 to 90 minutes of driving for JFK to Newark, depending on traffic.
