Midway Airport Car Service
Midway is Chicago's compact second airport, on the Southwest Side about ten miles from the Loop. It is busy with domestic flights, especially Southwest Airlines, and its size makes it a quick airport to get out of. One terminal building, a short walk from gate to curb and a direct route to the Stevenson Expressway (I-55) all help.

Main terminal and concourses
Midway has one terminal building with gates on several concourses. All arrivals collect bags on the lower level.
Lower level (arrivals)
Baggage claim and every ground transportation pickup, organized by lane and door number.

How Pickup Works at Midway
Midway's official pickup chart (Chicago Department of Aviation):
- Limos and suburban taxis: Lower Level, Center Lane, Doors 1 and 2.
- City taxis: Lower Level Inner Lane, Door 2. Rental car and airport parking shuttles: Lower Level Inner Lane, Doors 3 and 4.
- Rideshare: Lower Level Center Lane in three color zones: Blue A and B (Doors 2 and 3), Orange C and D (Doors 3 and 4), Green E and F (Door 4).
- Private vehicles pick up at the Lower Level Outer Lane (Doors 2, 3 and 4). Curbside waiting is prohibited, and unattended vehicles are ticketed and towed.
- The free 90-space Cell Phone Lot is at 61st Street and Cicero Avenue, just south of the main entrance and about four minutes from the terminal.

Why Choose Midway
Midway's main advantage is scale. A single terminal and short walks mean your chauffeur can usually have you in the car soon after you collect your bags, and the airport is closer to downtown and the South Side than O’Hare. For McCormick Place conventions, Hyde Park visits, the South Loop and many southwest suburbs, Midway is often the shorter drive.
It is also simple for groups. Sports teams, wedding parties and convention groups flying Southwest can be met as a group at baggage claim and loaded into a Sprinter at Doors 1 and 2 without walking to a parking garage.
Midway to the Loop, South Side and Suburbs
The Stevenson Expressway (I-55) runs from near the airport toward the South Loop and Lake Shore Drive, the main route for McCormick Place, Museum Campus and Soldier Field. For the West Loop and River North we may use I-55 to the Dan Ryan or local streets, depending on traffic. Hyde Park and the University of Chicago are reached by Garfield Boulevard or I-55 to Lake Shore Drive.
Southwest suburbs such as Oak Lawn, Burr Ridge and Hinsdale are close to Midway, and I-55 west reaches Bolingbrook and Naperville. The CTA Orange Line's Kiss and Ride at 59th and Kilpatrick is for friends and family. A pre-booked car always loads at the terminal, at the official limo doors.

Domestic travelers at Midway often fly with carry-on bags, so an executive sedan covers most trips. Families and winter travelers prefer an Escalade or Suburban, and Sprinters suit sports teams and convention groups.

- Remember the limo doors: Doors 1 and 2, center lane, lower level.
- The Stevenson Expressway (I-55) is the direct route downtown, but it slows at rush hour. Your chauffeur may take Cicero Avenue or Archer Avenue when it is faster.
- For a Midway–O’Hare connection, allow at least an hour of road time plus check-in.
